For your business

Build it right once, then keep it running.

Small businesses on the Eastern Shore usually don’t need an IT department. They need the network built properly the first time, and somebody local who picks up the phone when it misbehaves.

What I do for businesses

The physical layer. Cat6 runs, terminations, patch panels, racks and backboards, all labeled and documented, so the closet still makes sense years from now. Structured cabling & network installs

The network. Firewalls, switches and business WiFi configured on purpose: staff, guests, cameras and the point-of-sale on separate segments, so a guest phone can’t see the registers. WiFi, Starlink & wireless

Connectivity where the lines stop. Starlink installs and point-to-point wireless between buildings, for farms, shops and outbuildings that fiber and cable don’t reach.

Cameras and the front counter. Security camera systems on their own network segment, and POS stations, receipt printers and card readers kept running through the busy season.

Accounts and email. Microsoft 365 set up properly: mailboxes, shared calendars, MFA, Teams and file sharing.

Keeping it running. Monitoring & updates at $10 per computer per month, plus remote support when someone gets stuck.

How a project works

  1. Walk-through. I look at the building, the existing gear and what’s actually going wrong, and ask what you need it to do.
  2. Written quote. You get the scope, the equipment list and the price in writing before any work starts.
  3. The install. Done neatly, labeled, and tested before I leave.
  4. Hand-off. You get the documentation: what’s where, which port goes to which room, and the admin logins. It’s your network, not mine.

How billing works. On-site and install work has a 1-hour minimum, then bills in 15-minute increments.

Remote sessions have no 1-hour minimum. They bill in 15- or 30-minute increments, depending on the job. If it turns out to be a five-minute fix, I'll be reasonable about it.

Projects are quoted in writing before work starts. No contracts.

“We had our first consultation with Effitech IT Solutions today. Mike was professional, prompt and explained everything he was doing in plain terms for us. As business owners we require speedy effective IT solutions, Effitech gave us great results as well as piece of mind at a fair price. Highly recommend!”
