Security camera systems

Cameras placed where they actually show something useful, cabled properly, recording to a recorder you control, and viewable from your phone, without leaving a back door into the rest of your network.

Outbuilding with a wireless bridge radio and floodlight camera mounted on the siding
The shop end of the same link, with a floodlight camera on the same wall. Westover, MD.

How a camera job goes

  1. Layout. We walk the property and decide what each camera needs to see: doors, registers, lots, gates. Then we pick camera types and mounting spots to match.
  2. Cabling. Wired cameras on PoE (one cable for power and video) wherever it’s practical. Outbuildings can ride a point-to-point link.
  3. Recording. A recorder sized for the number of cameras and how many days of footage you want to keep.
  4. Phone viewing. The app set up on your phones, and a walk-through of how to find and export footage when you need it.

Kept off your main network

Cameras are some of the least secure devices on any network. I put them on their own network segment, so a camera can’t be used as a way into your computers or POS, and change the default passwords before anything goes live.

Pricing

Business installs are $119/hr, home installs $99/hr on-site, with cameras and recorders quoted separately. You get the full system quoted in writing before work starts. See full pricing.
