Building-to-building wireless in Westover
The shop needed the network, but trenching cable across the yard or paying for a second internet line didn’t make sense. A pair of point-to-point radios brought it over instead.

The setup
One radio is mounted under the gable of the house and aimed at the shop. The matching radio is on the shop wall, aimed back. With clear line of sight between them, the shop gets a full network connection from the house’s internet service.

Plus a camera
With the network now in the shop, a floodlight camera went up on the same wall, covering the side of the building and the yard.
Why point-to-point
- No trench. No digging up the yard or running conduit.
- No second internet bill. The shop shares the house’s existing service.
- Room to add more. Once the shop is on the network, cameras, WiFi and computers out there work like they do in the house.
